Teenage
driver’s
education

Our teen course consists of 30 hours of in-classroom instruction teaching key topics such as North Carolina laws, basic car control, defensive driving, alcohol awareness, speeding, adverse conditions, handling emergencies, accidents, insurance, and seatbelt use. Classroom participation is encouraged through classroom activities, lectures, and movies. Behind-the-wheel training includes six hours of on-the-road driving instruction.

State DMV Approved Drive Safe 365, Inc. Driving School is fully licensed by the State of North Carolina and is certified to offer in-classroom and on-road training. Our vehicles are serviced and maintained frequently to ensure a safe and effective training experience

  • To obtain a NC permit the DMV requires:

    • That the student be at least 15 years old

    • That the student have completed driver education

    • A Driver Education Certificate from the Driver Education Teacher

    • A Birth Certificate, NC ID Card, or Green Card (Birth Certificate must be original or a certified copy)

    • A Student Eligibility Form from the student’s school

    • A Social Security Card (must be original, not a copy, not laminated)

    • A Supervising Driver (must have been licensed for at least 5 years, must be a Parent, Grandparent, Legal Guardian, or other adult approved by the Parent or Legal Guardian)

  • Students are required to pass and complete the knowledge, road sign, vision and driving test.

  • Anyone under age 18 must be enrolled in school, passing their classes, and be making progress toward a high school diploma or GED to stay eligible for a Driving Eligibility Certificate, which is a requirement for graduated licensing.

    The N.​C. Division of Motor Vehicles revokes teen driving privileges when it receives notice from proper school authorities that an individual has dropped out.

    Teen drivers will lose their license for 12 months or until they receive a Driving Eligibility Certificate or high school diploma, if they are either:

    • Suspended from school

    • Assigned to an alternative education setting for 10 consecutive days as a result of disciplinary action

  • Cost for the complete Teen Driver’s Education Classtotals to $575
